Job Summary (Security Officer)
The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to maintain safety and security within the Magistrate’s Office in Welkom. This role plays a crucial part in protecting staff, visitors, and government property while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and legislative frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Managing and controlling access to the court premises.
- Ensuring compliance with all physical security policies and safety protocols.
- Monitoring CCTV systems to detect and report suspicious activity.
- Enforcing security checks to prevent unauthorized items from entering the premises.
- Operating security equipment such as alarm systems, metal detectors, and emergency response tools.
- Enrolling and updating staff on biometric and security access systems.

- Conducting regular security audits and reporting incidents to supervisors.

- Providing after-hours access to authorized personnel and maintaining accurate access records.
Requirements for Security Officer role
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
- Professional Registration: PSIRA Grade C.
- Experience: Previous experience in security or law enforcement will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge: Physical security protocols, safety legislation, and government regulations.
