The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the registry unit, ensuring the secure and organized storage, access, and disposal of government records in accordance with legal standards and electronic records systems.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this Chief Registry Clerk role, applicants must have:

  • A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate – NQF Level 4
  • At least 3 years of experience in archives and records management
  • Proven knowledge of:
    • Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), Act No. 2 of 2000
    • National Archives and Records Service of South Africa Act
    • Records management strategy and policies
    • Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
    • Public Service statutory frameworks, including:
      • Public Service Act
      • Public Service Regulations
      • Treasury Regulations
      • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

  • Operating and supervising office equipment used in registry functions
  • Supervising the archiving and disposal of documents in line with legislation
  • Assisting with generic management functions and team leadership
