Capricorn Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College invites applications from qualified professionals for the position of Admin Officer Asset Management. Minimum Requirements and experience for Admin Officer Asset Management

Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or equivalent in:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics
    • Public Management
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in one or more of the following:
    • Asset Management (preferably in a public institution)
    • Logistics and Supply Chain Services
    • Public Sector Financial Administration
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • BAS/LOGIS or similar ERP systems
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Comprehensive understanding of:
    • Asset lifecycle management
    • PFMA and Treasury Regulations
    • Public Service regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and reporting abilities
  • Valid driver’s license (Code B or higher)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities as Admin Officer Asset Management will involve:

Asset Register Management

  • Monitor and ensure accurate capturing of assets in the HardCat system (IT and Furniture registers).
  • Coordinate periodic asset verifications and updates.

Asset Movement & Allocation

  • Allocate and monitor assets assigned to College employees.
  • Track movement and usage of movable assets across all campuses.
  • Ensure correct use and safekeeping of College property.

Audits & Compliance

  • Provide asset data for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with asset policies and National Treasury guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing reports for submission to management and auditors.

Disposal & Transfers

  • Coordinate asset disposal and donation processes in line with PFMA.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance during disposals.
  • Assist in the reallocation of surplus assets.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise support staff involved in asset logistics.
  • Ensure team compliance with policies, timelines, and service standards.
