About the Chief Administration Clerk role

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ&CD) invites applications from experienced and detail-oriented administrators to fill the position of Chief Administration Clerk at the Family Advocate Office in Thohoyandou. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient administrative operations, compliance with financial regulations, and effective personnel supervision within the office.

As the Chief Administration Clerk, you will play a key role in managing clerical functions, overseeing supply chain processes, and ensuring accurate financial and personnel administration. Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in administration.
  • Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
    • Treasury Regulations
    • Departmental Financial Instructions (DFI)
    • Public Service Act and other relevant legislation

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As Chief Administration Clerk you will be required to:

  • Supervise clerical support services to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee supply chain administrative tasks, including procurement and asset management.
  • Manage personnel administration services such as leave, payroll, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide financial administration support, including budget monitoring and expenditure control.
  • Ensure compliance with Public Service regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead and guide staff to maintain high work standards and effective service delivery.
