About the Assistant Agricultural Practitioner Role
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (PDARD) is looking for 231 passionate Assistant Agricultural Practitioners to support extension and advisory services in rural farming communities. This is a great opportunity for agriculture graduates eager to make a real impact on food security and farmer development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with providing extension and advisory services to rural farmers.
- Support in crop and livestock farming operations and project coordination.
- Promote sustainable agricultural practices and food security initiatives.
- Help in collecting data, compiling reports, and monitoring farm activities.
- Conduct farm visits and interact directly with local farmers
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) with NQF Level 5 qualification in Agriculture (Agricultural Production, Crop or Animal Production).
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in rural areas and under challenging conditions.
- A valid driver’s license is an advantage (not mandatory).
