Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this Cleaner role, you must have:

• Educational Qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent as recognised by SAQA
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Basic literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to read and write clearly
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of Batho Pele Principles
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and their safe usage
  • Ability to operate cleaning machines (e.g., vacuum cleaners, polishers)

  • Ability to perform manual labour and follow health and safety protocols

Key Responsibilities for Cleaner position

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring that office and public spaces are kept neat, hygienic, and welcoming. Your duties will include:

• Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing office floors, corridors, storerooms, elevators, and boardrooms
• Emptying trash bins and replacing liners
• Cleaning windows, walls, and office furniture
• Maintaining cleanliness in restrooms, replenishing supplies like toilet paper and hand soap
• Operating cleaning equipment and machinery safely
• Washing kitchen utensils and ensuring kitchen areas remain hygienic
• Refilling aqua coolers during meetings and ensuring water is available
• Following occupational health and safety measures while performing cleaning tasks
• Storing cleaning materials securely and keeping an updated inventory
